MARC Opens New Doors to Independence

Vocational and Leisure Services has a new   home base site at 421 Main Street, Cromwell

MARC: Community Resources’ rich and vibrant history has recently been marked with yet another milestone, the purchase of a beautifully renovated building!

This building was renovated to serve as home base to our vocational and leisure services and supports. While our services continue to be community based, we now have met a critical need for adequate centralized space to launch many activities. Both consumers and staff enjoy a spacious building, state of the art modular cabinetry, plentiful storage, accessibility, office and meeting rooms—all in a spacious, airy atmosphere.

Located on a beautiful parcel of land at 421 Main Street in Cromwell, we moved in late December.  We are planning many fun activities and Open Houses during the year 2005 to celebrate this success.

Like our founding families of some 50 years ago, this remarkable achievement is the result of the vision, enthusiasm and hard work of many committed board members, staff, consumers and families.

And our work has just begun! A project of this magnitude will   require sustained effort to offset purchase price, renovations, furniture and equipment.

We invite you to be a founding member of our newest initiative— to enhance the lives of people with disabilities.

Mark your place in our 50th year of our history! Get involved, join us; please give generously of your time, talents, skill and resources—make a difference in the quality of someone’s life!

June 2004 marks the beginning of a new era for MARC.  Elizabeth Warner, President/CEO, signs the purchase agreement for the new building in Cromwell.  With Liz are Atty. George Law and Lou Alperowitz, Vice President of Vocational and Leisure Services.

Liz Warner, Alice Pomper, Chair of the Board of Directors, and Lou Alperowitz readily accept the challenge of renovating the future site of the Vocation and Leisure Services program.
