Recreation Programs
In order to enjoy
life to
the fullest, it is important to reserve time for special interests and
recreational activities. MARC Community Resources helps make this
possible for many of our participants.
--We promote inclusion by providing access
to recreational programs and events sponsored by local communities.
--Regularly participating
in fun activities encourages self-confidence and the development of social
skills. Furthermore, by getting involved with planning, scheduling and
organizing their recreational activities, participants take meaningful
control over their lives. Like everyone else, they grow with experience.
--Our professional staff assists in the planning
stage, provides transportation to most events, offers low registration
fees and financial assistance, and puts together a quarterly recreation
calendar.
We provide individualized
activities designed
for children ages 15 to 21. Most take place after school, early evenings,
and weekends. Each program is community based, coordinated with the schools,
provides one-to-one assistance, and focuses on personal development. They
are also fun!
This program offers
recreational activities
to adults ages 21 to 80+ years. These community based programs focus on
small group settings. Included are seasonal get-togethers, theater, dining
and sports. As always, participants take a vital role in deciding just
what they want to do and in making it happen.
